Our history in the recovery industry spans four generations, beginning with the purchase of Milt’s Towing in Saint Paul in 1967. There, we started assembling wreckers in addition to providing award-winning towing services.
In 1978, we formally founded Twin Cities Wrecker Sales. Over the years, the company has expanded to include a full range of services, from manufacturing to parts and repairs.

1967 Milt’s Towing
Dick Pellow acquires the business that will grow to become the foundation for Twin Cities Wrecker Sales.
1978 Twin Cities Wrecker Sales Founded
We broke ground at 1280 Jackson Street and began offering both Holmes and Century products.
1980 Minnesota Professional Towing Association Founded
Dick Pellow, with other towers, formed the association to serve as a unifying force in the industry.
1984 Grand National Driving Competition Award
Roddy Pellow takes home Second Place in the competition.
1984 Tow Woman of the Year
Jean Pellow’s dedication to the craft is honored by the Women of Towing and Recovery Association of America.
1985 Challenger Distributor Agreement
TCWS adds to their ever-expanding catalog by including the Challenger line of Miller Industries’ products
1987 International Towing Hall of Fame
Dick Pellow is inducted after years of hard work and dedication.
1990 Miller Industries Partnership Expands
Our partnership grows to include the Chevron product line, setting us on the path to achieving Gold Circle and Presidents’ Club Awards.
1994 Jerr-Dan Partnership
We formally agree to become a dual line distributor by offering Jerr-Dan products.
1996 Roddy Pellow purchases TCWS
Roddy formally purchases the company and moves headquarters to 1301 Jackson Street in St. Paul, MN.
2008 Miller Exclusive Partnership
Twin Cities Wrecker Sales becomes a proud partner of Miller Industries, further bolstering their product catalog.
2016 New Install Facility
The opening of our new facility doubles TCWS’ install capacity, allowing us to serve even more customers.
2021 New Parts Warehouse
The purchase of 1350 Jackson as a parts warehouse and PDI facility triples our parts capacity.
2023 Holmes Inventory Acquisition
We continue to strengthen our presence in distributing Miller product lines after our purchase of inventory from Blue Steel Tool.
